Submissions Open Now Through October 18th!
Murfreesboro, Tenn. (October 11, 2024) – Match Records, the student-run record label at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), is excited to announce the launch of its semester-long talent search, “Are You A Match?” Submissions are now open and will close on October 18, 2024. Applications are open to all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors currently enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University. Match Records is looking for unique up-and-coming student artists of all genres.
Match Records is a multi-genre, student-run record label that provides hands-on, real-world experience to students in the Recording Industry Department of MTSU’s College of Media and Entertainment. Match Records is devoted to developing new student artists and boosting their career. Since its establishment as a student club in the 2023 fall semester, Match Records has expanded its influence on campus, offering students more opportunities than ever to get involved in the music industry.
“Are You A Match?” follows an exciting format, starting with online submissions and progressing to live auditions in front of the label’s A&R department. The finale takes place at the end of the semester where the finalists will perform their music in front of a live audience. At the finale, audience members have the chance to participate by voting for their favorite artist where the audience can vote for their favorite artist(s). In the spring 2024 search, Match Records welcomed four new artists to its roster: Carson Arkade, Tucker Wilson, Carly Rose Ratcliffe, and Caroline Bowling.
This talent search has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated events put on by the label, giving aspiring student musicians the chance to shine. This event not only enhances the label’s artist roster but also brings the MTSU community together to celebrate the university’s musical talent. It’s an incredible opportunity for student artists to gain exposure and for the label to broaden its reach.
