IS MATCH RECORDS A CLASS OR A STUDENT ORGANIZATION? Match Records is officially an on-campus organization at MTSU!
HOW DO I JOIN MATCH RECORDS? Come visit us during club rush at the beginning of the fall or spring semester to sign up for our interest meeting! From there, you will fill out a form and our team will deliberate what department suits you best. Our departments are A&R, Live Events, Social Media & Publicity, Creative Services & Marketing, and Audio and Video. Once you sign bylaws and pay a small fee to go towards booking shows and providing extra opportunities for our artists, you're officially in! If any of this sounds like music to your ears, we'd absolutely love to work with you!
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF JOINING MATCH RECORDS? You will gain real world music industry experience, through either assisting our artists with career development, or getting signed to become an artist. Our team offers live performance opportunities for our artists, marketing assistance, artist development, and more. Plus, you will make long lasting friendships with your fellow music lovers at MTSU!
I'M AN ARTIST. HOW DO I GET SIGNED TO MATCH RECORDS? Towards the beginning of the semester, our Are You A Match submissions will open. From there, you will submit demos for our A&R Team to review. If selected for an audition, you will perform live for the A&R Team. Finally, if you are selected to become one of our five finalists, you will perform live at our semester annual Are You a Match showcase. Once our team deliberates, the new artists are revealed at the end of the show.
